What Is It?
A true sled dog experience that takes you out on the trail behind a working team. The ride runs at a controlled, intentional pace—keeping the dogs at a steady trot, which is the most natural, sustainable, and healthy way for this breed to move. The ride lasts 15–20 minutes, covering 2–4 kilometers depending on the weather, utilizing either snow sleds or a specialized wheeled training cart. Once back from the trail, the dogs are deeply relaxed, creating the perfect window for close interaction, listening to pack stories, and sharing a quiet moment together in the wild.
Practical Info
- Duration: Approx. 2+ hours (including preparation, trail time, and post-ride contact)
- Price: 150 € per rider / for non-riding companions, the price of “The Pack Code” applies
- Rig capacity: Up to 2 people per ride (maximum combined passenger weight: 180 kg)
- Weather conditions: Rides take place at temperatures up to 15 °C (during warm seasons, tours are scheduled during the cooler evening hours).
- Distance: Approx. 2–4 km depending on weather and trail conditions
- Group size: From May 15 to September 15: up to 4 riders ; other times: up to 8 riders (the number of non-riding companions is flexible, please inform us in advance).
- Location: Kotka-Jaani farm, Ridaküla, Kadrina parish, Lääne-Viru County
- Clothing: Sporty, weather-proof outdoor clothes and footwear that can handle movement, dog hair, and potential mud.
What’s Included?
- Arrival and briefing – an overview of trail safety, how the rig operates, and the importance of the dogs’ trotting pace.
- Harnessing the team – preparing the dogs by the musher, which participants can safely observe from close by.
- Trail experience – a 15–20 minute rig ride on a sled or a wheeled training cart.
- Hands-on pack work – unharnessing the dogs and helping the musher provide them with well-deserved water.
- Thanking the pack and storytelling – close contact with the now-calm dogs, hearing about their histories and quirks, and a shared quiet moment.
- Closing circle and refreshments – gathering outside the enclosure to reflect on the experience over a seasonal drink.
